Robin is a retired surgeon who was a consultant in Milton Keynes from early 1984 until 2016.

A lifelong passion in art and some inspirational teachers ran alongside his career which was very much based on the “art and craft” of surgery. Both genres call for the need for precision and technique along with flare and subjective assessments requiring both inspiration and judgement. He studied art at school in Scotland but had to concentrate on the sciences after “O” levels to gain entry to Medical school. Over the last 15 years an increasing amount of his time has been spent painting.

His passion is to try to capture the mood and drama of the sea. He has been particularly inspired by the teachings of E John Robinson and his friend and mentor Graham Morgan a fine local artist.

He has exhibited in Woburn art week, the Bedford Street gallery, the Medical art society at the Royal Society of Medicine and the AIM gallery Milton Keynes. He held a joint and highly successful exhibition in 2016 with Joe Little in the Westbury art centre.

More recently he has exhibited at the Claydon house courtyard during Bucks open studios and Bucks art weeks and in September 2018 held an extremely successful solo exhibition in the Claydon Estate courtyard stables gallery.
