Most of Juan Victor Cobos' pieces are hand build using slab building techniques, but he also thrown on the wheel experimenting with mixed media like resin and wood veneer.
His work is inspired by nature and mountains, taking special interest in shapes, colours and textures of rocks which are translated into his more recents collections. Stoneware and porcelain clays are mixed with oxides to achieve the final finish.

Working in a garage converted studio, he lives and creates his ceramics in Woburn Sands, no more than 10 minutes walk from the woodlands, which he often uses for inspiration.

Born in London, from Venezuelan parents, started his passion for the visual arts and ceramics living in the Andean city of Merida - Venezuela where inspired by the mountains and the local artists at an early age, he created his own studio and started to make ceramics, mainly small clay houses which resembled the local colonial architecture. Went to University, where he gained a degree in Systems Engineering and have been working as an I.T. proffesional ever since.

In 2014 he restarted his passion for ceramics working in his own studio and has been creating them and evolving as an artist since then.
